Lulworth Camp & Westport Gas Works by Mike Walshaw  4mm  OO gauge

For the purposes of this layout, an imaginary town of Westport (in Dorset) has been created close to Lulworth Army Camp. This Army base serves the ranges where tank crews were (and still are) trained in gunnery. The layout also features Westport Gas Works, at the back of the town. Each has its own railway system linked to the Southern Railway at Westport. The period is the mid-1940s and the principal traffic of the Lulworth Camp Military Railway is tanks, coming with their crews for gunnery training on the ranges. Interesting items of military railway equipment have been modelled, also the buildings and structures typical of a small town, early 20th century gas works.
